California Christmas

I love our California Christmas traditions. We go swimming at my parents house. They heat up the pool and it is so nice and warm. Rain or shine we swim. I made this layout for the whimsical scraps and bugs challenge. We had to make a layout with snowflakes from any cartridge. I am on vacation and so it was interesting because I had to borrow a cartridge from a friend down here and I used my moms little bug. I love that I am able to still scrapbook even though all of my stuff is at home.

My sister is an awesome photographer and I had her take this today while the kids were swimming! These are pictures of me when I was a girl! We love Southern California!!!! Thanks Tracie for your awesome skills!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Christmas Card

Here is my first challenge for Whimisical Scraps and Bugs. You should go and check it out. The ladies created some amazing things!!! We had to use a tree cut from any cart. I used Joys of the Season for the tree, the star, and the word joy. I also used Calligraphy Collection for the frame behind the word joy. I do not even own these carts but I am LUCKY enough to have good friends that do!!! They were so much fun to play with and of course are on my new (and growing) wish list!!! I used diamond stickles on the stars and the tree and the word joy. You can never have too much sparkle at this time of year! I also used dark gold tuelle which is becoming another favorite thing to scrapbook with!

Hope you are truely finding joy this holiday season!

Teacher Gift~ Wordbook

I have to give a huge shout out to Monique (http://monkeydoodlecricut.blogspot.com/) for her inspiration and wordbook cutfile! I am now totally obsessed with them and I can think of ANY occasion that could warrant a wordbook! THANKS MONIQUE!
This is my first one that I have made. It is for Mrs. Peart who is my daughters AMAZING teacher. I am so blessed to have the most amazing teachers for my kids this year! The colors that I chose are perfect for her! She is bright and fun! If you haven't had a chance to make a wordbook you should try!
I first cut out the pages of the book out of CEREAL BOXES! (I started using my chipboard but I was having to do multiple cuts and every so often it would get off and ruin my chipboard!) So I switched to cereal boxes and I don't really notice a difference in stability!
Here is the part that makes is so easy! I cut out the 1st page with the paper that want to cover the letter "P page" with (for this book). Then I take the paper that I want to cover the "E page" with and FLIP IT UPSIDE DOWN and cut the "P page" again. Then flip the paper so that the pattern shows again and then cut the "E page". That way the paper will be the same on both sides of the paper. (*if you will notice that I DID NOT do this for the first page of the book, but I figured it out for the rest of the pages!!!!)
I wrote on each mat what size picture to put in so that it would still have a border around the picture.

I used George for the rectangle, Base Camp for the letters, Home Accents for the embellishments, and Stone Script for the words on the last page. I used glossy accents from Tim Holtz to glue and to make the work "FAMILY" shinny.

I am almost finished with the other Teacher wordbook and then I will post that too! Thanks for stopping by...

Party Invites

I made some party invites for a friend whose little girl is turning 1. She has a snowman themed party and wanted some cute invites with snowman on them. I knew that I for sure wanted the adorable snowman from doodlecharms and I knew he needed to be on top of some cuttlebug snow! I think they turned out so cute. I hope she likes them as much as I do!

Happy THANKSGIVING!!!!

Another Onsie Baby Card

I love the new arrivals cartridge! There are so many cute cuts! I used the onsie cut (again!) and I used the mini monogram cart for the scalloped square. The threading water punch is on the edge. The Welcome stamp is from Stampin' Up.
Have a great day!

Halloween party Thank you note

We went to a SUPER FUN Halloween party at our friends house and so I made Tammi (the hostess with the most-ess) this silly thank you. The bat is from Paper Doll Dress Up and the punch is MS drippy goo.

THANKS LISA for the Googlie eyes!!!! I love them!

Halloween Card

I was going through old pictures and I found this picture of my Mom and my Sister from the 80's. I laughed so hard when I saw it and I knew that I had to do something for Halloween with it. I hope they laugh just as much as I did! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!!

Itty Bitty Baby Book

I made this Itty Bitty Baby Book while I watched Conference. There was no rhyme or reason for how it was put together but I wanted something that I could put all of the kids baby pictures in! I think it is coming along but I still need to add the title and the journaling.

Candles from Super Sat

These are just a couple of the candles that we made at super sat. Thanks to Deborah (Scrapping moms scraps) and (Robyn) the pink stamper for the directions!!! They are WAY easy and turn out super cute!

Exploding Box ~ "Where does the time go?"

This is the exploding box class that I taught at Super Sat. It was a lot of fun! I found the chipboard clocks and that inspired the "where does the time go?" box. I started with pictures of my husband and I as babies and then pics of us growing up and then of us together in school, and then our wedding. Then finally of us with our first child, our new family of 3, then our family of 4, then family of 5, and ending with our most recent family photo with all 6 of us!

It was a very fun day of crafting!

Crazy Monkey

Here is 1 of 4 layouts that I got done at my 12 HOUR Swarm!!!!! A little too much socializing and not too much working! BUT IT WAS A BLAST!!!! I still am going to journal about my "crazy monkey" Jerry. He is a hoot!

Still need IDEAS for alternatives for googly eyes for the animals on New Arrivals?!?!?!?!

Have a good one!

Spongebob SCARE pants and Gary

This is my entry for our local pumpkin patch scarecrow contest. I made it for Sadie's preschool class. If it wins the school will get 600.00! SO heres hoping! The kids made all of the jellyfish that are floating all around Spongebob Scare Pants and I was lucky enough to have a Dad that was handy with wood build the Spongebob box so all I had to do was decorate him with clothes and a face! Spongebobs face was made from vinyl that I cut with the Cricut of course!

Gary is a real pumpkin that I painted and his body is made out of foam. His eyes are christmas ornaments that I painted and attached to dowels. (Gary is my favorite!)

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Piece of Cake...

I have an exciting announcement.... I got the Expression!!!!(go to Hallmarkscrapbook.com~they have the BEST PRICES!!!) Now I feel like I have doubled my cartridges because I can do cuts that are too small for my baby bug (but I still love her!) I was dying to make things out of Tags Bags Boxes and More that were bigger than an inch when completed!!! I decided to make the cake box cut for my sister for her birthday. (Carrie if you are reading this before you get the package....SURPRISE!) I would have waited but I love the way it turned out! I used the fabulous Martha Stewart Drippy Goo Punch. I love the look of this punch! I even sewed on my ribbon and pulled it so it made my "whipped cream". My kids couldn't put it down and they want me to make them their own cake! I can't wait to make all of the purses, bags, envelopes, etc that I have been dying to make for 2 years!!! So hopefully there will be a lot of posting in the next little while!

I am not really sure what this new trend is of adding buttons to your pictures but I thought I would try it out.... still not real sure what all of the woopla is about but there it is... If you know the inside track of the picture embellishment let me know!

Thanks for stopping by! ~ Jenny

Baby Boy Card~ Silly Monkey

I LOVE the monkey from New Arrivals. He is so cute! I wish I knew what to do with the eyes from this cart (like the elephant, giraffe, duck, etc.) so if you have ANY suggestions PLEASE let me know. The google eyes were OK for this one because I wanted it to be a little silly but I am not a big fan of google eyes.

This is such an easy card because I used the creative feature CARD 3 key and it makes the card ready to go with the scallop edge! So easy but so very cute!!!! I knew that I wanted to see the inside of the sewing so I put brown on the bobbin so that I could put my nephews name in the inside the stitched part of the card.

Let me know of your EYE SUGGESTIONS!!!!!!

Thanks,

jenny

Onsie Baby Card

I love New Arrivals. There are so many cute cuts in this cartridge! I have a some new nephews born and we found out my sister is having a boy too! So with all of the new boys in the family I need boy baby cards. (On my side of the family I am the only one with girls!) All of the paper is from DCWV Nana's Nursery mat stack. I love that the paper says "onesies and blakets and diapers, oh my!" Welcome is a stamp from stampin up that I am borrowing from a friend(thanks Michelle!) The onesie is on pop-dots. I love those things!

Thanks for stopping by!

Not scrabooking but still fun!

I am in charge of a cooking group for church. Once a month we get together and we have a theme picked out such as salads, chicken, etc. and then everyone brings a dish to share and we have one person demo their specialty. Then everyone emails me their recipe and I put together an electronic cookbook and send it out. It is A LOT of fun and it is always a great night. On Thurs. our theme was DESSERTS. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! I wanted to bring something that I am thinking about bringing to the OCT. SWARM (which I can't wait for!!!!) so here is my dessert. They are cupcake pops and they are TASTY! And I think they are so cute! I got them off of this blog http://bakerella.blogspot.com/2008/04/make-your-cupcakes-pop.html. She has awesome instructions. They seem a little labor intensive and they were until I just got rid of the step with the cookie cutter. I just made 2 balls out of the dough and flattened the bottom ball, dipped that in chocolate and squished on the top ball and let it dry and then dipped the top and decorated. Anyway they are delicious and cute!

Birthday Card

The outside
The inside We are going to Southern California this weekend to visit my family and we are celebrating my moms and my nephews birthday so I made my mom a card with Storybook. I LOVE this cartridge! There are so many fun things that are on it! All of the cuts are from storybook and I used the fabulous Martha Stewart punch (this is something that I find myself using on all of my cards lately!). The cockatoo is popped up with pop dots. I made a rub-on for the Happy Birthday Mom. I think she will think it is a fun card. She has a cricut but she is not even close to having the obsession that I have with mine. (which is probably very healthy)

Enjoy your Labor Day Weekend and look for some BLOG CANDY FUN coming VERY SOON!!!!!!!!!

Much too long

I have been going crazy getting the kids ready for school and I am also in charge of our "super Saturday" at Church and so I have been making several different crafts like CRAZY! Unfortunately I did not take pictures of any of them (yet). They are at Church for the next 5 week so that everyone can sign up but when I get them back I will post. BUT FOR NOW I made a few thank you cards and I did get a picture of one before they all went out the door.

It is a simple card made with Mini Monograms cart and swiss dot and thank you cuttlebug folders. I have been borrowing a sewing machine (thanks Valerie!) and so I have been sewing like crazy on all of my projects! It is so much fun!

I am going to announce my PAY IT FORWARD BLOG CANDY in the next few days!!! I am seriously behind in getting this out but now I can think and I wanted it to be good Candy fun! So stay posted!

1st Day of School Crayon Wreath

I wanted to make decorations for the back to school lunch and so I made these VERY EASY wreaths.

I used the middles of 2 embroidery hoops. The big one is 12 inches and the small one is 8 inches.

I used almost all of the 64 pack of crayons to hot glue around the hoops.

I used LOCKER TALK to cut out the scissors at 5 inches and then embossed the bottom of them with silver embossing powder.

I used my black cricut marker to draw my ruler at 3 inches. Then I changed back to my blade and cut out the ruler.

I used the marker again to draw the Report card at 5 inches and then cut it out.
A+ was cut at 1 inch

The word "Trajan" (my children's school) was cut using All Mixed Up with the Design Studio software so I could weld parts of the word and make it smaller than 1 inch.

"Elementary"is Alphalicious.

The apple was cut out with Doodlecharms at 2 1/2 inches.
I glued the things that I had cut onto the wreath and added some curling ribbon and glued the scissors on top of that. You could put your child's teachers name on it instead of the schools name for a really cute 1st day of school gift. I usually give these to my kids teachers at the end of the year but I was not prepared last year so I am doing it now... Better late then never right?

Wall hanging~ BBTB contest

I really loved the inspiration magazine ad that Regina picked out at BBTB. I decided to make a wall hanging for the family room with Home Accents. I used scalloped chipboard frames and inked them dark brown and then added all of the fun embellishments. Home Accents has all of the swirls and beautiful sayings so when I saw "live, laugh, love" I knew that that was the perfect thing that I needed for the wall. The W and M are Heidi Swapp chipboard letters and the off white lettering is Making Memories rub ons. I used pop dots under live, laugh, love to help give it a little depth. Thanks for looking and wish me luck...
