Wall hanging~Whimisical Scraps and Bugs Challenge

This was our instructions for the newest challenge for Whimsical Scraps and Bugs: BLACK & WHITE Challenge.......... only 1 other color will be permitted and it must be minimal! You can create anything you want to!!! A card.... A LO.... An Altered item.... ANYTHING!!!!! : ) You MUST use the word SPRING (letters cut from any Cricut cart).

I chose to make a wall hanging with the word spring. This was a very difficult challenge for me! When I think of spring I think of a lot of colors, especially pastel colors and so black and white was not the direction I was thinking of! I really liked doing the challenge once I got into it! It looks good hanging in my living room and my husband even likes it... who knew!

All of the cuts are from the Storybook cartridge. I cut the letters 3 times out of chipboard and then cut the letters out of the patterned paper from basic grey. The black and white paper is from Prima. I used a stamp by O'Scrap! for the Spring definition then raised it with pop dots. A little bit of Stickles in the middle of the flowers and some inking.

We were trimming back our trees today and so I thought I should photograph it in a tree in my backyard. It just looks like spring with all of the new flowers blooming in our tree! Happy Spring!

I love your wall hanging - you did a wonderful job on it. I like the little stick on the top left and the paper you choose is awesome. And the idea to take a pic when it hang in your tree is just great. Here it is still cold and no flowers or leaves in the trees yet. I am jealous!LOL
I know what you mean by saying spring means pastel colors to you - I had the same problem first. But once I got into it it was fun.

Wow, I love this Wall Hanging.... and you did a wonderful job conveying Spring with just those limited colors. I'm like you, Spring needs to spring forth color after color but nonetheless, your Black and White and hint of another color did the job.
